Having no idea about what to write on the report?

No worries! Today, our team came up with some ideas on how to write an effective report for kid classes.

Just imagine yourself learning a new language as a student.

What kind of feedback would you like to get from your coach?

Is it just "Hello, greet to see you today. See you next class. Well done! Great! or Keep it up!"

Well, those feedback might sound encouraging, but they do not contribute to any improvement for you, right?

It is the same as when you write a report for our young students. What they and their parents wish to see in the report is their progress and area of improvement. Consequently, we would like to clarify your feedback with more details.

Here are two rules that would help you write the kid classes' reports more effectively.

  • If you want to use encouraging words such as "great or well done", you should elaborate more on what the students did well in class.
  • Focus on the student's progress and areas that need improvement.

Apart from that, you can conduct the report in two formats: prose and bullet points.

Example 1 (Written in prose)

  • This is his best performance so far. He could answer most of my questions in English and he tried to communicate in English by using "What does it mean?" I'm so impressed. He is getting better in English including reading. He could read almost all the words correctly. Keep up the great work and do not forget to review "desk, take out" Thank you for your effort, and nice to see you today ^^

  • We were on the topic 'Strawberry and Chocolate' today. We focused on learning the phrase 'Would you rather...?' in the class. He did well as he could answer all the questions telling what he would choose. He could also make the sentences asking 'Would you rather...?'. He only missed some details in the sentences but that's okay. Well done! And don't forget the 'sh' sound in the word 'English'. :)

Example 2 (Written in bullet points): using the same example as for example 1

Student's progress

  • Can respond to every question correctly suggesting that his or her listening skill has improved
  • Can form sentences correctly by using the grammar he or she just learned

Area of improvement

  • Please try to be more confident when speaking.

As you can see from the example, our ideal report should include students' progress and area of improvement so that the student can perceive what to work on after the class. Moreover, their parents also would love to see the student's progress from our beloved coaches' reports. Thus, we hope this article can be useful as a guideline for you to write an effective report for Kid classes.

Have a wonderful day. :)
